Ensuring Safety during Covid19

Ensuring Safety during Covid19

Since its inception Neoretina has been positioned as a tertiary care referral hospital for treatment of complex eye diseases. As the majority of our patients come with debilitating eye and systemic diseases, safety has always been our priority. Continuing our decade long legacy of excellence in eye care, we have served the community throughout the lockdown period in order to ensure availability of emergency services. Being an NABH accredited super-specialty eye hospital our processes and procedures were already at par with world-class safety standards. Now we are a Covid19 compliant hospital as well. To assure our patients of their safety, we’d like to share the following changes that we have adapted in our practice:

  1. Strict screening protocol at the entrance
    • Screening desk at the entrance manned by a trained paramedical staff.
    • Every person uses hand sanitizer at the entry point.
    • Body temperature is noted.
    • Masks are mandatory for all. If a patient enters without a mask, the hospital will provide one.
    • Self declaration form and consent to be filled by every patient.
    • Only one attendant allowed per patient.
    • Aarogya setu app downloaded by all staff and patients as per Government guidelines.
    • Patients and attenders to show a valid ID proof. Name and address of patients and attendants noted for future contact tracing.
  2. Patient education checklist displayed near the screening counter.
  3. Staff preparation
    • Staff has undergone rigorous training in Covid19 guidelines and assessment of their knowledge has been conducted.
    • All staff has been provided with adequate personal protective equipment.
    • All staff follows strict hand hygiene and social distancing protocols.
    • Staff trained in triaging and waiting time of patients significantly reduced.
  4. Patients are encouraged and reminded to maintain social distancing while inside the hospital premises
    • Wearing of masks compulsory.
    • Keep physical distance notice displayed at the front desk while making payments.
    • Only alternate chairs provided to patients for seating so that there is at least 1 metre distance between two people.
    • Hand sanitizers are provided throughout the hospital premises for all persons.

All our OPD and surgical services are available from Monday to Saturday 9 am to 5 pm.
